Junior Data Scientist

ΠΕΡΙΓΡΑΦΗ ΘΕΣΗΣ ΕΡΓΑΣΙΑΣ

We are looking for a Junior Data Scientist with a knack for analysis, math and statistics in order to analyze large amounts of raw information and extract valuable business insights, helping, therefore our company to make better decisions.

Role Responsibilities 

As a Junior Data Scientist, you will be responsible for: 

  • Designing, maintaining and analyzing periodic reports, tools and MI dashboards.
  • Performing detailed analysis on large transactional datasets, multiple data sources and business requirements to clearly define: data content, transformation, mapping, cleansing, manipulation, validation, exceptions handling, retention and storage requirements.
  • Performing necessary checks for reasonableness, completeness and accuracy.
  • Providing administrative and technical support by preparing and reconciling statistical information to be used in actuarial computations, financial forecasts, management reporting and any other ad hoc requests.
  • Creating dashboards by selecting and tracking the right metrics and KPIs for effective technical portfolio management.
  • Leveraging data visualization techniques to present complex information.
  • Designing and developing ad hoc analyses, stochastic modeling, simulations, predictive and prescriptive solutions in order to support and drive business decision-making.
  • Keep abreast of technology, methods, and best practices, participating in peer reviews.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in data science, engineering, mathematics, statistics/applied statistics, computer science or related quantitative field.  Master’s degree will be considered as a plus
  • Up to three years of experience designing, developing and implementing predictive and prescriptive solutions to solve problems and deliver actionable insights
  • Conceptual, Logical and Physical Data Modelling experience; excellent data and process analysis skills
  • Experience querying and manipulating data in large relational databases using SQL, Python, and/or R
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and VBA
  • Knowledge of Power BI (or other visualization tools) will be considered a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to effectively collaborate with multi-disciplinary groups
  • High level organizational and project management skills in order to handle multiple concurrent assignments in a timely manner and to monitor processes throughout a team or department
