Sushi Cook

Ella Resorts is a new collection of eco-chic hospitality properties offering exceptional quality and service excellence. In 2023, Ella Resorts will be operating a portfolio of 6 lifestyle & family resorts on the islands of Rhodes & Corfu.  

Position Summary:

A sushi Cook prepares sushi dishes in accordance with food health and safety regulations and Ella’s restaurant standards. The sushi cook’s responsibilities include preparing traditional Japanese sushi rice, chopping, slicing, and filleting various kinds of fish. Also, should be able to customize customers’ orders according to preferences and food allergy considerations.

 

Scope:

  • Prepares all types of sushi, including maki, nigiri and sashimi
  • Manages food prep activities, like boiling rice
  • Coordinates with our wait staff to ensure proper cooking, considering special requests and food allergies
  • Prepares appetizers, soups and salads that are close to the philosophy of Japanese cuisine
  • Monitors food stock
  • Maintains hygiene principles in all cooking areas and clean your space at the end of the shift

 

 Prerequisites:

  • Three or more years working experience in a similar role in the 5-star hotels or high-volume venues
  • Degree / Diploma in Culinary
  • Work experience as a Sushi Cook or at an Asian restaurant
  • Good knowledge of various sushi types and sushi-rolling techniques
  • Ability to work both fast and accurate
  • Excellent knowledge of English language
  • Customer oriented
