Destination Technical Director

The Destination Technical Manager is a professional who takes care of all the equipment of a hotel, building or factory.

Tracks the cost and progress of maintenance and projects so the company knows the state of the plant and when something needs repair. Inspects the preventive maintenance process, takes care of and repairs electrical, plumbing, ventilation and air conditioning problems.

He is responsible for planning and coordinating projects, as well as overseeing multiple teams

 

Responsibilities:

  • Developing maintenance procedures and ensuring implementation
  • Carrying out inspections of the facilities to identify and resolve issues
  • Checking electrical and hydraulic systems of buildings to ensure functionality
  • Plan and oversee all repair and installation activities
  • Allocate workload and supervise upkeep staff
  • Monitor equipment inventory and place orders when necessary
  • Monitor expenses and control the budget for maintenance
  • Manage relationships with contractors and service providers
  • Keep maintenance logs and report on daily activities
  • Ensure health and safety policies are complied with
  • Planning and coordinating all installations and refurbishments
  • Managing the upkeep of equipment and supplies to meet health and safety standards
  • Inspecting buildings’ structures to determine the need for repairs or renovations

 

Requirements and skills

  • Experience in planning maintenance operations
  • Solid understanding of technical aspects of plumbing, carpentry, electrical systems etc.
  • Well-versed in technical/engineering operations and facilities management best practices
  • Working knowledge of facilities machines and equipment
  • Ability to keep track of and report on activity
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities
  • Knowledge of basic accounting and finance principles
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Good analytical/critical thinking

 

Education and professional background

  • Mechanical or electrical engineer
  • Experience as maintenance manager, facilities or other relevant position in hotels
  • Excellent knowledge of English language 
  • A second language (French, German, Russian, or Italian) will be considered as a plus
